Mary L. Ports was born in San Pedro, CA. Her chief interest in teaching, was to help in the character building of children through all media, especially music, art, stories and poetry. She has two award winning chapbooks, Kaleidoscope and Pathways to the Pleiades. Many of Mary's poems and stories have won awards and have been published in Bell's Letters, Rockford Review, Lucidity, One-On-One, Shadow Poetry, Poetry for Thought, The Write Club, SP/Quill Magazine, Poets at Work, The Canyon News, Smile Magazine and many others.
